Re-live the games of 80’s with Good Old Games

And now something completely different. As a child of the 80’s I can recall many great times huddled around the PC trying out the latest games. While today’s games are more sophisticated than ever, the games of the 80’s and 90’s had a certain character about them, and their primitive graphics left so much to the imagination. For those who can relate and wish to re-live some of these great memories, there is now a website just for you.

Good Old Games brings back the nostalgia by making the games of the past available – and for cheap. They have gained the rights for many old games and are making them available for prices ranging from $5-$10. Each game is downloadable, and where required comes with DOSBOX – a utility for running old school DOS based games. The games generally work perfectly with simple install instructions, though the website features a support forum so users can discuss any technical problems.

Each week a new game is released and one or two games are offered as a free download. The games also include PDF versions of any extras which came with the original product, such as manuals and maps which were often works of art themselves.

Deciding on a game is also enjoyable as the website features colourful screenshots, user and parental ratings, detailed descriptions about the game and other interesting information.

So if you’ve been searching for a long lost game or simply want to take a step back into time, be sure to check out Good Old Games.
