Other Types of Docs

Beyond conventional technical documentation, I help companies develop many other types of docs including:

Interactive PDF Forms

Despite the popularity of web-based data entry forms, many large organizations still rely on PDF files.

I have over 15 years of experience developing interactive PDF forms using Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) Forms, formerly known as Adobe LiveCycle Designer, which is vastly superior to Adobe Acrobat for form creation.

My work includes hundreds of corporate banking forms for HSBC – one of the world’s largest global banks. These forms span basic input entry documents to advanced PDFs with expandable/collapsable sections, conditional logic using JavaScript, and many other advanced features.

I’m well adept at pushing the limits of what’s possible in interactive PDF forms, and have solved many complex problems that LiveCycle Designer can throw up. If your organization relies on PDF files, contact me today to discuss how I can help you create, enhance, and maintain these valuable assets.

Technical Patents

Many organizations, especially startups, patent their intellectual property. However, patent creation and filing can be complex, time consuming, and requires specialized knowledge and guidance from a patent lawyer.

I’ve helped several organizations develop and submit successful patents for technical architectures and can help yours as well.

I work with your subject matter experts to extract the important details and put them into the right legal format as direct by your patent lawyer. This process saves your SMEs time, provides an outside perspective on the right questions to ask, and bridges any technical gaps with the patent lawyer. For additional information, see my Technical Patents blog.

Below is an example of a patent I worked on for tagSpace‘s augmented reality (AR) technology.

RFP Responses

Responding to an RFP or Request for Proposal can be a project in and of itself. I’ve helped several companies including managed service providers in the IT sector, where RFP responses must adhere to long, detailed requirements and stringent timelines.

Typically working under full NDA, I help companies by taking the burden of researching, gathering information from SMEs, and assembling the final response. With a deep understanding of how RFPs work, I provide an outsider’s perspective to ensure the right levels of details are captured.

If your company could benefit from some help responding to RFPs, contact me to discuss how I can work with you and your team to build an effective RFP response.

Wikipedia Pages

Wikipedia is a great resource to learn about pretty much anything, and a key resource for many of today’s AI and chat-based searches.

As a fact-based resource, Wikipedia has stringent terms and conditions, namely that content must never come across as promotion, and all information must be cited. In addition, anyone in the public domain can edit or even delete your article, and the terms and conditions can change over time. Despite this, a Wikipedia page can be a great addition to your organization’s outreach. It signals that your organization is not only established, but that it’s being discussed by external sources.

To avoid the risk of being flagged as self-promoting, a Wikipedia page must not be created by your organization. This is where I come in. As an established Wikipedia author, I can work with your team to develop an outline and build the content by researching and citing sources. This ensures a fact-based article and reduces the chances for negative consequences by other authors. I can also work to resolve any issues that do arise, and help to continually update the article as your organization, service, or product evolves.

Below is an example Wikipedia article I created for Developer Relations several years ago. Contact me if you’re interested in some help creating one for your organization, idea, or notable person.
